"Amur" pulls two goals back and wins in the most difficult game
On February 23, "Amur" started the final series of championship games in Minsk.
The meeting with the local "Dinamo" was developing extremely rapid. By the fourth minute of the game, the teams had exchanged goals. The visiting team stroke first when it was playing short-handed. Butuzov and Jordan organized a "two-on-one" breakaway and the latter shot immediately hitting the right top corner. Mosalyov gave an immediate response from the Minsk residents. The rivals' focus on the net did not affect the pace of the game. The game continued uncompromisingly. The teams were not staying in the middle zone, and the hosts were demonstrating better positional play by using the entire width of the European ice. Still, it was "Amur" at the middle of the period that got the lead again. This time, Zohorna became the main key player by beating the defensemen at the goal crease and giving Golubev an elegant pass, which #28 of the Tigers could not capitalize though. The Minsk residents did not let the visiting team own the game for too long. Less than a minute later, Mitchell had the stands on their feet. The Canadian striker hit the net with a shot from the hash mark. The teams could have gone to the locker room with the even score on the board, if not for Pare, who, with the help of his teammates, came to shot from the blue paint.
The second period was no less interesting and rich in goals. At the 23rd minute, Varfolomeev capitalized on the man-advantage of Minsk. However, following that, the lamp was lit three times behind the Bison's net. Butuzov started the chase by beating the goalie in a close battle. After Polunin took the puck away at the blue line and dealt well with Furch in a personal confrontation. After that, the home team made changes in the goalie team. However, Kolosov, who came on as a replacement, did not manage to keep his net intact. Zohorna took his team to the leaders, punishing the rival for their first violation in the game.
The third period was the culmination of the thriller in Minsk. At the start of the period, "Dinamo" remained shorthanded for four minutes, but successfully killed this time, not allowing the Tigers to dig in the O-zone. Playing equally by any statistic numbers, at the 48th minute, Protas found a loophole for the puck in the defense of Langhamer. The scoring lull lasted 10 minutes and Pyanov broke it down. The forward scored a goal similar to the one that saved Russia from the Olympic nightmare. As Gusev did, #45 of Tigers launched the puck into the helmet of the goalie and it rebounded into the net. The Tigers were six minutes away from winning. Half of this time, the Minsk residents spent with six of them trying to bring the game into overtime. However, this time the kings of the additional periods could not reach their throne. The result is the victory of "Amur" 6-5.
