"Amur" and "Dynamo" decide the fate of the last game of the season in the extra period

Long goodbye

On February 27, "Amur" finished the season with a game in Riga, where it met with local "Dynamo". The coaching staff gave Timur Shiyanov the final chord in the championship, for whom this game was the debut in the KHL. Janis Voris, who is of the same age as Timur, defended the net of the opposing team; however, he's already had 10 game in the Elite.

The young goalie of the Tigers had to really get into the game at the fifth minute, when he turned aside a shot during the rival's 3-on-2 attack. Then "Amur" got the right to power play – the second one for the game. And if the first one did not bring any result, then the next turned into a goal. Dmitry Arkhipov scored by sending the puck from the blue paint into the net. Being behind in the score, the residents of Riga organized an excellent controlled attack, but here again Shiyanov played well, and Artur Gizdatullin caught the puck twice. The Tigers responded by hitting the net bar with a puck that bounced back from Polunin. In the first period, net bars were playing not only on the side of the home team. The shot to the top corner of Amur's net was also stopped by the metal structure.

The second period was directed by penalties, and "Amur" had to defend without the captain-Michal Jordan, who after the break was unable to continue the game due to slashing to his head that he had received in the first period. The Tigers stayed short-handed five times, including for simulation and too many men on ice penalty. The rival took advantage of this twice, – Denis Parshin scored his second one to even the score at the 26th minute, and at the end of the game, he headed his team in front by taking a tip-in shot. Before leaving for the locker room, the Tigers got their right to capitalize on their man-advantage and could regain parity in the game. Pyanov, in the last seconds of a quick attack, made a blasting shot, this time the residents of Riga were saved by the net bar.

In the third period, "Amur" was able to even the score with the help of Alexander Sharov, who came on the ice after an injury. The forward, being at the blue paint, completed the pass of Alexander Kuznetsov. Being even in score, the teams were playing for about 13 minutes, and none of them was able to put an end to the game in the regulation time. In the extra period, Polunin, who beautifully dealt with the goalie in close battle, won the Tigers’ victory. The result - Shiyanov wins his first game, and the Tigers, having extended their scoring streak to five games, are finishing the season on a positive note – 3:2 and going back to Khabarovsk.
